Experience Cypriot Folk Dance in 3D

We have digitally recorded our folk dances, which have been jointly developed over centuries by the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities living together in Cyprus—dances that define who we are. In this platform, you will also find examples of these dances, classified into types for the first time in their current known form, as published by Kani Kanol and Ali Hoca in the HALKBİLİMİ magazine, first issued by HASDER in 1986. For the first time in this format, you will be able to watch these dances performed by dancers from the Turkish Cypriot organization HASDER and the Greek Cypriot organization PAOK, captured in a special motion capture laboratory. This result, made possible using today’s technological tools, is of course a work in progress and in need of further development. We will continue to improve it as our resources allow. During the recording process, the choreographies and music compiled by the Technical Committee of the Turkish Cypriot Folk Dance Federation were used as references.

"Step into the world of Cypriot folk dance through our innovative 3D animations. Recorded using motion capture technology, these animations preserve the traditional movements and spirit of our cultural dances. Explore the rhythms and steps that bring our shared heritage to life."
