Ulus Beledoğlu
He has been doing traditional mirror restoration for 8 years. He learned restoration from the artisans at HASDER by watching them and experimenting on his own, gradually developing his own experience. He does the work with pleasure and curiosity, as if playing a game and wondering about the result. He enjoys making a mirror that has been used for centuries ready to be used for another century. These are the steps he follows when doing a mirror restoration: 1.He identifies the problems in the mirror. 2.He takes a mould from the intact side to complete the missing side and restore the symmetry by casting. 3.If there is a similar mirror, he also uses it as a reference when taking moulds. 4..He then completes the missing parts, fills the holes and cracks, and prepares the mirror for painting. He finally sends it to a painter.
